SEN REVIEW
This review provides a focused evaluation of your school's provision and its impact on the achievement of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs. It includes the following:
- off-site scrutiny of RAISE and any other achievement data supplied in advance and your summary self-evaluation / any more detailed special educational needs self-evaluation;
- one or two days on site, depending on the size of the school or pupil referral unit, looking at IEPs, your special educational needs register, policies, individual progress data, observing lessons and support sessions, interviewing key staff, and considering the school's approach to managing behaviour;
- opportunity for senior leaders and the SENCo to work closely with the consultant, discussing existing strengths and areas for improvement;
- can result in a written report following the visit (typically half a day's consultant time).
